Sunset Farewells.

I do believe there are moments in life where you are supposed to be in a particular place at a certain time.

I will always remember the date this was taken, 15th December 2024. It was just over a month since my father had died. I’d been caring for him full time for over four years through the cruelty of dementia.

I hadn’t picked up the camera since his death but that day I just needed to get out and collect my thoughts. I decided to head down to the beach taking the camera with me as it has always been the place that I’ve found the greatest peace.

As I sat watching the waves gently lapped against the sand and the sun slowly set reflecting its decent beautifully across the water. I could feel my father with me that day, the man I had known before the dementia had taken over, and as the sun finally set it was our proper goodbye.
